Our Camp!

For those of you who don't know, Our Camp is a week long camp in Story, Wyoming. This camp was started years ago by family members on the Baker side. The camp is a "get-away" for individuals with disabilities.

I've been attending this camp as a counselor since I was 10 years old. This event holds a very special place in my heart. This camp became even more special to me a couple years ago when I was able to bring my own clients AND share the experience with Gunnar. Gunnar has gone for 3 years now.

Its a time when I can see lots of family as well as old friends, including the clients. I attribute this camp to my career choice of today.

I've included several pictures of this years camp. I have choosen not to include pictures of clients to ensure their privacy.

Gunnar was awared this, as he did EVERYTHING outside (including dropping his pants and "doing the deed" whenever he needed to. :) )

Camp is isn't the same with out a mishap. Gunnar was accidentally hit in the face with a wooden dowel.

On our way home, we stopped in Caper to enjoy lunch at Sandfords Grub and Pub. I have always enjoyed Sandfords, but this one was VERY neat. Lots of little (or should I say huge), decorations.

Nate had to do some painting for something on the boat, so Gunnar thought he would paint too. I got him some of "his" paints and Wow, what a mess! I think he had fun though.

Ok, I have this "Funny Flip-Book" that you read daily to have a giggle or a laugh. The one for June 18th was so cute I had to share!

A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales. The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human.

The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale. Irritated, the teacher reiterated it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human.

The little girl said, "When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah."

When the teacher asked, "What if Jonah went to hell?"

The little girl replied, "THEN YOU CAN ASK HIM."

Funny Story!!!

Ok so…Nate AND I were cuddling together in the hammock in our front yard. I went to sit up and WHAM!!!…we landed on the ground. I was laughing so hard I didn’t notice that Nate was holding his head. I then saw blood, which freaked me out. The screw holding the hammock up came right out of the tree and whipped Nate in the head. If you look closely you can see each ridge of the screw. He experienced a headache and some back pain but is doing fine. Now we can laugh at it and…Nate and I won’t be in the hammock together anymore!
